Though dabbling in creative writing since college, I began writing seriously in the early 1980s, when I conceived the idea for my Guardians of Peace series of sci-fi novels. Since then, I've published several books, including my first two novels. Other books include The Referee's Survival Guide, a book on soccer officiating, and a book on the Sonnets of William Shakespeare.
I've always enjoyed science fiction, and Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke were among my favorite authors while I was growing up. Over the years, I also developed a taste for Dickens and Hemingway, as well as the mysteries of Agatha Christie, and the westerns of Louis L'Amour. I preferred books with strong plots and memorable characters...though found much sci-fi to be lacking in both.
I always remember my father writing...and some of his passion to express ideas rubbed off on his son. Presently, I find myself working on any number of projects---from book reviews, to short stories, to new novels...and have recently started editing books for other authors.
