Ailawishes, born Erica Ferrell, grew up in a small town called Jackson, Alabama. Ailawishes discovered her creative talents when she was in 7th grade. She used to write hip-hip lyrics but never shared them with anyone because of her shy personality. After graduating college, Ailawishes received a call from an aspiring model in Hollywood, California who
advised her that an actor by the name of Brandon Hammond, Soul Food, was interested in directing a short film that she had written three years ago. Amazed by the request, Ailawishes forwarded her first completed movie script, Ex-Girlfriend, to California. Sending her work for a professional to review, gave her the motivation to take her writing to a much higher level.
In 2009, Ailawishes decided to publish a collection of poetry that was written over a 6 year period. Soon after Floetic Whispers was released, Ailawishes gained contact and great reviews from several known celebrities in the entertainment industry. Word of Mouth: After hearing about her book release, Ailawishes was contacted by a member of A&R for Columbia Records via Facebook. She was then presented with an amazing request to write a song for one of their R&B artist Adina Howard. Not believing the request, Ailawishes took it upon herself to contact the artist directly and learned that the request was legit.
Since, Ailawishes has published a children's book, Heaven's Library Journey, and started a non-profit Organization, A-Kidz AWishes, to promote literacy in low-income communities. Ailawishes has gone on to sell thousands of books around the U.S. and surrounding countries. In addition, Ailawishes has a new book, Red Lace, set for a Fall 2011 release.
