I was born and led a normal life from 1957 to 1979. I was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma named Shawnee. I did well in school and after HS joined the Air Force. I returned home in 1976 and married my childhood sweetheart, Gail, who lived in the house behind my dad’s house (our back yards were joined at the fence.) We led a normal and happy life for several years.
Then, in 1979 - lightning struck. Jesus appeared to me personally in a mystical vision, and then began having casual conversations with me. As you can imagine, this changed my normal life dramatically. After the initial shock, and my long period of skepticism and disbelief, I finally accepted that it really was Jesus. We began talking.
Since then, I became a hermit and lived a very private life. Few people ever know about my hidden life and my ongoing conversations with Jesus. Most who did know, doubted my sanity or seriousness.
From 1979 to 1985 we talked about EVERYTHING, like a curious child would with his infinitely intelligent Father! I asked about everything I didn’t know or understand, until I understood everything that I desired! After 5 years, we had had thousands of conversations, covering just about anything I could imagine, and a lot of things Jesus threw in because He knew I would enjoy knowing.
I began teaching others the wonderful principles and ideas I had learned. I used the information that Jesus had told me, and it changed peoples lives for the better. I began holding small and private seminars and workshops on Love, Life, Joy, Relations, Fear, Elimination of Pain and Suffering, and many more. I wrote outlines to follow, as the same questions always came up. Jesus explained that this was all training for me- and that one day, instead of teaching a few persons at a time, I would teach crowds.
In 1985, I asked Jesus if we could go back over the early conversations so that I might write them down, and use this material in my teaching of others. He agreed. We did. This became the book (I played “20 questions” with God.) While TDY in the Air Force to Las Vegas, over a two week period, in my spare time, Jesus and I redid the 20 conversations and I wrote them all down longhand on regular notebook paper (about 600 sheets.) The ENTIRE BOOK (75,000 words) was written in 2 weeks!
I continued to write. I have written about 25 books, about a hundred “workshops, seminars, and discussion outlines” and use these as training aids and teaching material. I started the second book in the series, “Conversations with Jesus – book 2” but only wrote 5 chapters before halting.
I would occasionally give a copy of The Truth to a friend or person in training, and many of these people were deeply affected by the book. The most common response I get is that some part of it touched them deeply inside and made them cry.
