I am a school teacher and I live in a small, messy house in deepest, darkest Surrey with 4 children, 2 cats and a husband.

Background Information

I was born near, grew up and went to school in Epsom, Surrey, the home of the Derby. I studied English inc. Medieval Studies at Exeter University in the late '80s. I still live in Surrey where my children go to school. I think my county is one of the most beautiful in England but maybe I'm biased! I've also always loved Devon where my mum comes from and where I have enjoyed many glorious holidays.

I love reading, theatre, art, crafts and history. Thanks to my daughter, I have also begun to enjoy music again - even if we don't always agree!

My own preferences for reading (and TV/film) have always been varied: romantic, thrillers, murders, historical. I have loved myths and legends from childhood.

Additional Information

My first book was published in January this year (2009). It is called "Blood and Allegiance" and is a fantasy adventure (with a touch of romance) in a historical style setting. Aimed at 10+/early teens, I know both younger good readers who have enjoyed it and plenty of adults too. A little light fantasy goes along way in this day and age! My second book, and sequel to the first, "Escape and Betrayal" is published on October 29th 2010. I have added both a few illustrations of my own and a touch of romance.
