...and he'd be wearing that nauseating smell. The pungent odor of alcohol-saturated flesh. ... I didn't even know when he would get home, and already my heart was racing. With Jack, each drunk had a pot-luck ending. ...

Our cat shares her home with me and my recently retired mother. I live in Shawnee, Kansas, a part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Writers who have inspired me are simply too many to list here. I am a writer, artist, and metaphysical practitioner. I have a BFA in art, a doctorate in metaphysical sciences, and certification in hypnosis. Currently, I am working on my first novel, but I also continue to devote time to my art through detailed tree drawings, which can be found at Harrison Gallery of Trees online. Please note that I have legally changed my name since my other book--I have dropped "Starkey" and will be using only "T.N. Harrison" in all future writing.

Along with my work as a writer and holistic counselor, I am a literal tree-hugger and somewhat fanatic advocate for the safety of our food in this country--fighting GMOs and rampant pesticide/chemical use. "A Good Woman's Hell: The Journey Through and Out of Darkness" was my first book, but I vow it won't be my last. I am moving in a different direction though.
