I've been writing all my life. In high school I discovered the world of hard-boiled fiction(Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, John D. and Ross MacDonald) and I was hooked. My interests are eclectic and varied. I appreciate good writing, regardless of the genre, and always try to make my works entertaining.

Bachelor of arts in English, Northern IllinoisUniversity. Master of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing, Columbia College Chicago. Certified Firearms Instructor, SWAT officer, and Field Training Officer. Holder of a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

My first novel, A Killing Frost, was released September 28, 2002, by Five Star. I've published over thirty short stories in various magazines and anthologies, including Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and Hardboiled magazine. I am also the author of over forty on various subjects ranging from pop culture to police work. I also have written two nonfiction books (The M1A1 Abrams Tank and Volunteering to Help Kids).
