I was born an only child, raised in church to believe in the Lord. As a young person I left the church and God to do my own thing. That was like traveling down a busy one way street or on the freeway at 5:00 PM, going in the opposite direction. My collisions were many, some had serious results to myself and others around me. But God had a purpose and a plan for my life. He has allowed me through writing and speaking to show others just how much their life matters to Him in this life.
Like it or not, the influences of the church and older people in my life led me back to Christ. The prayers of my mom and grandmother and many, many others have surrounded me - even in the stupidity of trial and error.
