My books, except for a special one (Letters Home) , have all been written to help people. My first book, Raising a Handicapped Child, was written because I needed a book for the parents of the children I was caring for as director of a Center for children with disabilities. It has been in publication since 1986 in five different editions. The last edition was published by Oxford University Press in 1999. They also published Raising a Child with a Neuromuscular Disorder in 2000 and it is still purchased by parents all over the world. 101 Ways To The Best Medical Care has multiple resources and much practical information. (Infinity Publishers- 2006. )
My latest book was just published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers in the U.S. and U.K. It is Grandparenting a Child with Special Needs. It is being very well received.
I have a Web site at www.drthompsonsbooks.com and a Blog at www.findinggoodmedicalcare.com.
