My name is Ishmael Astree. But my legal name which will soon be changed is Jerry Astree. In January 2008, I studied early childhood education at Suffolk County Community College (SCCC). In spring 2009, I transferred to Long Island University (LIU) and I changed my major into childhood education. Because I wanted to pursue a BSED (Bachelor of Science in Education), in fall 2009 I transferred to SUNY-Fredonia but I then changed my major into Theater. I enjoy acting, although I still have a passion to teach. When it is time I will return to school and complete my undergraduate education. I am currently a full time author and I enjoy being a full-time author.

       My writing career began at LIU. While I was on campus I wrote Haitian meal recipes, began writing my autobiography, wrote love poems, and it progressed into children's book manuscripts. I am also working on my first fiction novel: The Power of Faith: A teen mother's romance, struggles, and triumph .

      As stated below, I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. My family and I moved to America because we wanted to live a life of opportunities. When we came to America life gave us the priviledge to dream. I am now twenty-two years old and I have been living in America for fourteen years (I was eight when I left Haiti).
