Since I was a kid, if a had a pencil and paper, and a world of things to think about, then I was writing it down. It's easier to see things for what they are if you pay attention to what's in between the lines. There are many shades of grey.


Writing came to me, very early in life, as a natural way of expressing what I need to release in a positive outlet. Some people paint or play music.... this is what works for me.


"Writing it all down" has helped me to move past many things in my life. My notebook was always there for me whenever I needed to talk. And never once did it have a negative reply for me. It just listened. It has shared my dreams and secrets, my joys, my fears and worries. It's never talked about me behind my back, or passed judgement, or penalized me for the way I feel. It's the one place where I can always be honest.


As with many people, the things I write about all stem from personal experience. Some may be my own, and others may be a permanent imprint left on me by someone else. Some things I lived through, other things I just watched happen.... But everything, I felt.


My first love of writing is, and probably always will be, poetry. I had written a few short stories , once upon a time. More recently I have experimented with lyrics and songwriting. This has proven to be a unique eyeopener. My present project will be my first children's book. It is one of the things on my lifetime goal list.


If I have done this even for only one person to enjoy, then it has been worth the effort.
