I have always loved writing and reading. I majored in journalism as an undergraduate at Howard University and worked as a writer and editor for many years before graduating from Georgetown University Law Center. I still practice law, and I still write. I started The Elevator Group, an independent publishing company, to publish my first novel, Chasing the 400, in 2006. I published my second novel, Land Mines, in January 2009, and expanded into publishing other authors, starting with Patricia Thomas' A Christian Woman's Journal to Weight Loss in January 2009. I also just released the companion journal to Land Mines, called Journaling Through the Land Mines, in July 2009.
I have been influenced by a lifetime of reading. Some of my favorite authors are Alice Walker, Zora Neale Hurston, Terri Cole-Whittaker, and Margaret George among many others.
