Upon moving to New Mexico she became a one-woman Graphic Design department for a small printer, but her experiences with the culture shock of life in New Mexico as opposed to life on the east coast inspired her to write long, humorous missives to friends and family back east. Regaling them with tales of her adventures in the 'wild west' she formatted her letters into mock-newspapers which she called her "Albu-Quirky Journals". They were so well recieved that she soon decided to compile some of the tales into book form and thus published her first book, "You Don't Need a Passport to Move to New Mexico"

Her humorous style of writing and use of dry wit was inspired by her three favorite authors, Mark Twain, James Thurber and Jean Shepperd. Debora is such an avid reader that she has been told she doesn't just read books... she devours them. She usually reads an average of 10 - 15 books per month on such subjects as Humor, History, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Mystery, Biographies, Etymology, Mythology and Egyptology to name a few.

Debora's other interests and hobbies, besides her reading, writing and researching of local oddities includes drawing, graphic design, photography, jewelry making, assorted decorative crafts, aromatherapy and bellydancing.
