Academic Background – Served on the teaching and research faculties of several universities, including the University of California, the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and received a Visiting Professorship at the EAP European Graduate School of Management at Oxford, UK. Hold a B.A. and M.A. in the Behavioral Sciences and earned a Doctorate from the School of Leadership Science and Education at the University of San Diego. Following the Doctorate, appointed as a Post-Doctoral Fellow of social anthropology at the University of California, studying leadership and cultural change.
Research, writings, and reviews on leadership have appeared in several publications, including the European Journal of Management, the Journal of Leadership Studies, Businessweek, The Economist, The Investors Business Daily, and the best-selling books, The Leader of the Future and The Organization of the Future, both published by the Drucker Foundation.
Author of the recently released book ESPN The Company: The Story and Lessons Behind the Most Fanatical Brand in Sports (Wiley, Sept 2009) and the critically acclaimed business book, The Taboos of Leadership, published by Jossey-Bass, May 2007. Serve on several boards, including the Grauer School and the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
