My interests as a writer focus on exploring myth, community, language and nature. I feel a very close link between my writing and my love of the natural world, and of wild places. My books are hopefully strong, natural stories, joyous, uplifting, and above all else I use the traditions of story-telling to weave good tales.
I live and work in the Outer Hebrides, 50 miles off the north west coast of Scotland in the north Atlantic. The culture of the land, the people and the language very much informs my work.
I am also the manager of a long-running professional development project for writers living in Scotland.
