I'm intrigued by fascinating people, and like to tell their stories. I'm inspired by surprises; I look for treasure in thrift stores and in souls. I eavesdrop on the world past and present by exploring art and literature, my two greatest passions. I have a great zest for life that tumbles into the darkest depressions, up and down. I write about these experiences, as well. I write about death, and can tend to gallow's humour. But when I'm not too intense or melodramatic, I can be a lot of fun. I also love to eat and drink, so I often write about food.

A collection of short fiction will be ready by early next year. I'm working on a nonfiction book about death but don't like to say too much about work in process until it's done. I'm the author of four books:
The Astronaut's Wife: Poems of Eros and Thanatos
Weird Monologues for a Rainy Life (irreverent ramblings from the end of the world)
Dendrite Pandemonium: Hits, Misses, and Random B-Sides
Goodbye, Billie Jean: the Meaning of Michael Jackson (Fifty-one Writers, Curated by Lorette C. Luzajic)

The Girl Can Write
Come and visit me here! You'll get to know me, and you'll find all kinds of intriguing work.
Fascinating People: gossip for smart people
There are so many interesting people in the world that we may never meet. It's impossible for most people to read a biography of everyone they'd like to know about, never mind getting to know people they've never heard of. These profiles introduce you to fascinating artists and eccentrics and visionaries and killers and writers and more.
The Paleo Garden
I love writing a column connecting mythology , anthropology, pop culture, and history- A Matter of Life or Myth. I also write about food and nutrition.
The Real Dish
I write a down to earth column for foodniks who might not be into the whole five star white linen napkin thing, with great suggestions for discount diners.
