They say everyone should have a hobby. Mine? Why it's Murder, Mayhem and Mystery!

Background Information

Cynthia Rainfrette-Barlow has a BA in English and works full time as a Case Manager for a social services agency.  She teaches evening classes in Creative Writing and Novel Writing. Cynthia is a memnber of Mystery Writers of America and the New England Poetry Association as well as many other local writing memberships. Along with teaching the Creative Writing and Novel Writing classes, Cynthia facilitates two montly Writing Suport Groups.

With several short stories, poetry and published works in newspapers, magazines and other multi-media to her credit, Cynthia is currently editing her first novel, The Silsbury Archive Murder, featuring Justin Wilkes and Dr. Henry Vinal.  Her first book, a collection of stories entitled Camden, Maine's Ed and the Boys, will be publishedin the summer 2008.

Cynthia is the long-time facilitator of the Camden Writers Round Table and Editor of Writers of the Round Table quarterly newsletter.  Her philosophy is to motivate her students and fellow writers to reach beyond their expectations. "There are people in this world who strive to achieve for themselves... My greatest satisfaction is in motivating and mentoring others... to be part of a writer's dream and watch them step forward into the world of publication!"  Her own personal inspiration comes from her family, especially her Dad, who was a great storyteller and inspired the Ed and the Boys stories.

Birth Place
Rockland, ME

Cynthia's poems have been published in several anthologies. Along with occasional newspaper contributions and e-publications, Cynthia is currently working on a series of short stories featuring Justin Wilkes, the Investigator Extrodinaire and his close friend and companion, Dr. Henry Vinal. These intriguing stories take place in and around London during the 1860's and are sure to add a twist to the usual "who dunnits".

COMING SOON! Meet Ed Dillingsworth, firehouse custodian. Homer Newburge, retired mechanic. Seth Dalton, retired woodsman, and Arthur Harris retired dump custodian—a curmudgeonly group of former volunteer firemen, all in their 80’s, who live in the small coastal village of Camden, Maine. They meet each day at the local fire station, and have their own brand of humor, their own set of rules and their own sense of time in today’s fast-paced world. Ride along with them in their 1946 Studebaker truck and share their comical, yet endearing adventures.
