Author of Paws & Effect: The Healing Power of Dogs, and Paws to Protect

Background Information

I'm a journalist who has always owned, trained and raised dogs, ever since chidhood, when a Wire Fox Terrier saved me from depression and grief over the death of my mother. Now, as a renowned breeder and dog show judge, my assignments take me all over the world. Last year I judged in Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Russia, England and Canada in addition to the US. I've been invited to judge in Argentina, Taiwan, Germany, France, Holland, Italy, Australia and other appointments I was too busy to accept.

As an expert on dogs and a journalist, I don't like people to exaggerate claims of what their dogs do. I wanted to separate fact from fiction, which is why I wrote The Healing Power of Dogs. It outlines the science behind claims that dogs are good for human health, and details how dogs detect cancer, alert to seizures and other amazing things.

Currently, I am raising several assistance dog puppies for a charity and working on new books about the bond between human and canine. www.healingpowerofdogs.com
