While I've attempted writing since a teenager in high school over 25 yrs. ago, it's only recently that I've actively pursed that interest . It was two years ago when I published my first book which was inspired by the life and times of my 3rd g-grandparents. I'm now working on a series that is set in the mid-19th century in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. Each book in the series chronicles the ficticious Gray family through time, yet the events surrounding their daily lives are those events that my various early families experienced between the early 1800's through the 1900's.
Some of my major writing influences have been Bodie Thoene, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Danielle Steele, and Tom Clancy. I've just recently discovered three 21st century authors and have fallen in love with their books. They are also new friends as well. Sara Reinke, Laura Frantz and Suzanne Woods Fisher have left a wonderful impression with me and inspired what I would like to do with my future writing ventures. Mrs. Frantz's "The Frontiersman's Daughter" and Mrs. Fisher's "The Choice" were books right up my alley and perfect to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate to read late at night.
I'm a Christian author that does her best to write quality stories that inspire and try to reach the heart. If you are looking for books laced with extreme sexual content and/or violence and/or language, then my books probably won't be what you are looking for. If you are looking for a good, heartwarming story that reaffirms love of family, enduring love, and endearing friendships, then my books are what you are looking for. Take a peek and see for yourself. I'd love to hear from you!
