Brian loves writing about characters who are caught between what they are expected to do and what they should do. He has completed his first novel, is working on his second, is editing his short fiction, is hoping to land an agent, and is happily married to the greatest woman in the world. Brian's movie and music reviews have been published online. He lives on the Upper East Side - New York City.

Background Information

My interests are the crazy, mad men ... Celene, Bukowski, Fante, Henry Miller, Don DeLillo, Dostoevsky, Hemingway and Hubert Selby, Jr. My true passion is short fiction. I like nothing more than to shine a spot light into a character'd life and get out just in time for the reader to want more - to wonder more. I am also influenced by singer/songwriters like Springsteen, Waits, Dylan, Neil Young, Billy Joel, Rodgers and Hart, George Gershwin and Cole Porter - amongst others. I am particularly interested in the dramatic choices people make that will affect their lives in both a positive and negative way. Since I was ten years old, I have had a love affair with music from the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. Music has a huge influence on my life, but I am as passionate about new music as I am the retro style. I hope to make a living as a published author.
