Deeply introspective. Occasionally neurotic. Always on the ragged edge of outrage. In love with illuminating the absurdity in all things.

Background Information

I am a Teacher and Freelance Writer based on the East Coast. I have a BA in English and Secondary Education. In my career as an educator, I specialize in Urban Education and Creative Writing. I am currently working as a Freelance Writer and Blogger.

My professional influences are too numerous to list here but I will give you a brief sampling.  I love essayists and novelists who can write a good essay.  I love James Thurber, Zora Neale Hurston, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.  I adore Dorothy Parker, David Sedaris, and Rachel Carson.  I am an eternal devotee of Alice Walker, Toni Morrison, and Maya Angelou.

I blog about anything I find absurd, infuriating, hilarious, and sometimes....just sometimes, I blog about something I think is serious. Lately, I have been blogging about my experiences in the freelance writing arena. To sum up - I usually just shove my arm down into the heaving morass of mass culture or my own brain and see what clings.
