My first satire, "The Very First Gimme in the History of the World," was published in a regional PGA golf magazine. This satirical piece led me to write a column, One Over with Bogey Oller, in the same magazine. Later, I obtained a Hollywood agent, on a one shot deal, to submit a Newhart teleplay to the production company. As a real estate analyst I published several technical articles on eminent domain issues (government taking of private property) for, The Association of Eminent Domain Appraisers, a state-wide professional organization
My earliest reading influence as a child was Jesse Stuart's, Taps for Private Tussie. The hill-country dialogue blew me away. As a teenager it was the Mickey Spillane series, and finally John Steinbeck and others.
I combined my published satirical writing skills and technical mortgage banking knowledge to create a topical satire on a loony savings bank
