I was born and raised in family of eight kids in Erie, Pennsylvania. I began writing poetry and lyrics at an early age. I dont know if being the middle child made me the most tolerant, understanding, patient or in the constant negotiator mode with my parents, but it was certainly needed. My father was a hard working blue collar worker, fun loving man, talented in his own right. He was World War II Photographer, a tool maker, a classic car enthusiast and restorer. Unfortunately, he was also an abusive alcoholic. My mom, patient and submissive, who normally had a great sense of humor, was challenged raising us while dealing with my Dad's issues. I feel his issues were born of Post Traumatic Stress due to his Military service in the Pacific. I spent my childhood years trying to figure out his occasional depression and solve my parents irreconcilable differences. As I grew older, I realized they were better off apart. My writing deals with characters who are also challenged in their relationships. They find themselves in situations and environments that become toxic or detrimental to their well being. They search for answers any way they can to cope, repair, and maintain what they have while struggling to find their true self. They reach out to find personal/intellectual growth in creative ways and their interesting journeys help to discover the truth. I hope to shed some light on the subject of the personal growth along with the trials and tribulations of maintaining relationships.
