I've lived in Minnesota all my life, and I've always been obsessed with fantasy and paranormal. I've taken as many writing courses as I could, and I've been writing and honing my craft for years.
I've written 12 novels, but the first few weren't that good. I'm an Indie publisher right now with my My Blood Approves series, but I'm still trying to go the traditional way for my other urban fantasy novels.
When it comes to my writing, pop culture is a major influence. With My Blood Approves in particular, I was inspired by John Hughes, The Lost Boys, and the film Purple Rain. I love Minneapolis, and that definitely influenced the book.
I also listen to a lot of music when I write - blink 182, Fall Out Boy, and a lot of 80's music. Plus, I love covers. Covers of any song ever. My current obsessions are Imogen Heap's cover of "Thriller" and Knatterjak cover of "Time to Pretend."
