Heidi Schlatter has always been an animal advocate and also a defender of the underdog - of the two-legged as well as four-legged kind. She combined that with a desire to write a children's book, and felt that she was blessed with exactly what was needed to get started.
Heidi has written and self-published the first story in her intended series about rescued animals. She is hoping to be an influence in how children are taught to treat animals with compassion and respect. She also hopes to eliminate the term rescued-animals from our vocabulary because our future adults have learned what needs to be done to ensure that all animals are viewed as more than another household or backyard fixture.
