I have a writing degree from Michigan State University and have written freelance for twenty years until I put my career in photography on the middle burner to focus on fiction and non-fiction I WANT to write.
Stephen King and Mario Puzo were the defining writers from my childhood- tough the first adult novel I read was Audrey Rose at the age of 9 and it scared the bejesus out of me. I knew then i emerged from my "reading den" (closet), I was going to write thrillers one day.
I continued my voracious reading until I got to college and was forced to read things I didn't enjoy. I was however, afforded the opportunity to continue the honing of my craft- writing. The red pen left a brutal scar on this fiction writer and I took a break from all things red when I graduated with a degree in Creative Writing.
I've spend thirteen years as a professional photographer and while it has become a fulfilling and lucrative career- my heart still beats for writing. So, I began my journey six years ago and have just signed a contract on my first novel "Consumed." It is slated to hit book shelves before the end of this year.
In beginning the writing of "Consumed" I was able to fulfill another childhood dream- to write and work with my best friend, Alisa. It's been the most gratifying professional endeavor I've embarked on thus far, and know in my heart this is the burgeoning of a long and prolific career in fiction.
