Writer of 4 published books, Paul writes about life. Whether its about love, self-hatred, understanding of what life encompasses, Paul exhibits authenticity in the very drama he tries to portray.

Background Information

Paul was born in Manila, Philippines to Filipino parents.  He attended catholic schools including the prestigious Ateneo de Manila University.  While attending the Ateneo, he curtailed his studies and went to attend the University of San Francisco, instead.  When he was 17, he migrated to the United States, first Chicago and then the Bay Area.  Currently, he lives in Portland, Oregon.

Paul had written several novels, including poetry and essays.  Only in 2010, after working in sales for 20 years, did he decide to publish them.  The first was "Pretty and Nowhere to Go" and then came "A Cottage in Another Country", "Deconstructing Connor" and "Poetry in America".  He also writes blogs.

He develops a style all to his own.  Writers observe and study their world and writes about them.  Paul canvasses his world and translates them into stories.  He writes with a scintillating flair.  After reading his novels, his readers will feel a sense of catharsis that all are bound to be what it ought to be.

Pretty and Nowhere to Go
Veronica grew up with a strong sense of certainty. She has a family who shields her from whatever evil that might harm her. Her strong foundation enable her to be the bedrock other people depend on and that her home became the refuge people go to in times of their needs. She is the pillar of succor and rest. But events turn against her. The maladies of life invades her life and that now, she is the one who needs saving. But are these events truly ones that destroys life or ones that rebuild it? "Pretty and Nowhere to Go" is an essay on life. It is learning and accepting what life hands down. It is a story that finds no escape for Veronica, for in this world it is not fighting those we cannot win over. See: Paul Cuenco at,,, and See also:

A Cottage in Another Country
Paul expounds on the concept of love whether is it a shallow expression of one's feeling toward another person or a deeper, more intimate relationship. A cottage became the focal point where his adventure begins. A husband, whose life was dominated by a methodical wife, seeks to escape by finding freedom in a cottage in another "country". This was heaven for him but life was not as straight forward as it seemed. Life has its twist and turn and that his heaven has turned into a hell. In this adventure, he takes his experience in his search for love. So, what is love? Is it lust, passion or understanding? Or, is it a lifetime of waiting and hoping? In the end, will he remain in his old haunts? Will he find redemption from the decisions he made? Will he find true love when all seemed doom? Love takes a lifetime, an amalgamation of all feelings, rolled up in one life. See: Paul Cuenco at,,, and See also:

Deconstructing Connor
What is to understand oneself? Why has he become who he is? What are the pieces that made him whole, again? It is the story of Connor and how we deconstruct him why he becomes who he is - his childhood through his growing-up years; from his working years to his old age. It traces what triggered his indelible struggle to free himself from the bondage that haunts him throughout his life. Will Connor triumph over his ghosts? Will his demons make a living hell or will the better angels triumph? See: Paul Cuenco at,,, and See also:
