I’m Elizabeth Isaacs, author of "The Light of Asteria, Kailmeyra’s Last Hope", and I cannot tell you how very excited I am to be part of the authorsden community! I have my master’s in music performance and at one time considered a career in opera. My teacher’s heart wouldn’t stand for it though, and so we moved back to Kentucky where I found a wonderful elementary school that needed me.
Books have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always been a closet writer. When I was fifteen I handwrote a romance, but I was too afraid to show anyone.
Maybe it's the teacher in me but I believe that we all are born with gifts. Physical gifts manifest themselves through the joy of sports and dance, visual gifts through art, aural gifts through music, but imaginative souls have great stories concealed within. They possess the ability to string ordinary words together to become extraordinary tales. For me, the greatest of these include Dr. Seuss, Judy Blume, C.S. Lewis, Max Lucado, J.K. Rowling, and Maya Angelou. I know they are strange bedfellows, but these are the authors that touched my life in a very powerful way.
