I have very deep passions for The French and Indian War, also The American Revolution. I try to tell the stories of the men,and women who had lived during these early years of our country. I want my readers to learn, and feel each of my characters lives. I want our children to learn of these colonial times, and what every person had to endure during this very important time in our history. Every person who lives in this great country of ours, should learn where their freedom orginally came from. Our children should read of these trying times. No movie can truly tell the correct story. I was born in a very small town of Starkville, New York. The fourteen room house was near the Otsquago Creek, which winds it's peaceful way into the Mohawk River. Here, and all along this stream, and beautiful river called the Mohawk, is where our country was fought for. I graduated from a very small but beautiful school in 1968. Upon graduation, I joined the Navy, and did two tours in Viet-Nam, on a minesweeper. Writing hit me early, but never pursued my passion until I was re-storing the Ancient Flint Burial Cemetery. There I could feel my ancestors who were buried back in the 1760's letting me know that I must write about their lives. I began endless hours of research about my ancestor Robert Flint, this brave pioneer. Once I sat at my keyboard, the words, the times, the deep feelings began to become words. The feeling is as strong now as then. So I will keep writing about the Colonial period that was along my old homestead, and the characters will become real. Every day I thank Robert Flint for this feeling he gave me, and to write what I love.

My first Historical novel, 'The Life and Times of Robert Flint the Pioneer,' along with my second book, 'Trail of Broken Chains.'My third book 'Two Brothers, Two Wars, One Valley.' My fourth book now released, 'Keeper of the Waters.' Now has been added to my web-site. www.dbflint-colonial-wars.com
My fifth Historical fiction book,'Halfmoon on the Mississippi,' was released in January. The sequel of this book will be out soon.
I have finished writing my 7th. book, 'Blood on the Cabin Door', a spin off of 'Keeper of the Waters.'
While walking along the steep cliffs near my home along the Big Ivy, I was kicking around a few ideas for my next historical adventure book. I wanted to carry on the adventures of 'Halfmoon on the Mississippi', with the second generartion of my orginal characters. The year is 1820, the Missouri, and Mississippi Rivers have just started to see the steamboat. The west is opening up with new settlers, and the fur trade is now in high demand. Here is where my book begins, and the adventure continues up the Missouri River an un-charted river and dangerious.
I have many hours of research on the steamboat, and for the years of 1820-1850. I have now completed writing this book, 'Deadmen on the Missouri,' and now I have nearly completed the spinn off of this book, this latest one I'm writing is, 'The Sentinels,'which covers the time periods of 1850-1878.
While doing many hours of research on my last three books, I have fallen in love again with the Great Plain Indians, and the time frame just after the Civil War, before the iron rails started penetrating the West. It is a wild, and lawless land, and the people who came here to begin a new life. I will write about these brave people, and will bring their lives to you.

For the last few months I have added a new page to my web site,'My Corner,"My Soapbox News Letter.'
I have been annoyed by what I see, and listen to on the news. I try to look at both sides, and I have come to the conclusion, there is only one side in news now days. My ancestors fought as militiamen 230 years ago for their country when they were invaded by a super power. We are being invaded again, not by one country, but many. One military, the others by cheap imports, and selling off this country piece by piece.
We once made everything in this great country we needed, now it is all imported. Off shore customer service, and so on. When will we wake up, and take back our country that my ancestors, and so many had fought, and died for?
To follow my thoughts, and News Letters, come and visit my site.
