I am a 53 year old male who has had a passion for writing since I was a child. I have been published with companies such as SouthWestern Educational Publishing Company (now called Cengage Publishing Company); my first book was published in 1999 and helps teach those who would like to learn how to function in a medical office environment. Having also worked with the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA), I have worked on seven (7) different books concerning pharmacy issues, from working as a pharmacy technician to the intricate details of pharmacology.
Since attending Junior High School in Florida and meeting some people who were also interested in writing, I have always tried to keep myself with pen and paper, working with the school newspapers (both in Junior High as well as during High School) and have used that experience to help launch my own career as a writer following my college education, which was completed in 1991. Graduating from Alderson-Braoddus College in Philippi, West Virginia and attending Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, I became a Physician Assistant (PA); I then used what I learned in medicine to begin writing for several different web sites about the field of medicine. The first encounter was with what was then called "The Mining Company," and is now called "About.com." Following my experiences with the many web sites to which I sent materials and stories, I decided to venture out on my own and become a published freelance writer as well as a freelance medical writer.
Working on my own now, I have begun writing my own novel, although it remains in a sketch form at the moment. I would like to use my experiences in life as well as my education to help write a fiction novel. It has been a long time coming for such a product, but I am quite sure that I will have the impetus and the energy to complete the novel sometime next year.
