My childhood experiences on a dairy farm in MN has influenced and inspired the way I think, feel and approach my writing. Much of what I come to know is in relation to cows and learning to imagine, dream and explore through the eyes and minds of children. Hard work and dedication is one of the most valuable gifts life on the farm has given me well into my adult life. I stay committed to my family, work and give back to those who have given to me.
Aside from life on the farm, my experiences throughout school were less than desirable. I was one of those children picked on for apparently no reason other than I didn't dress or do my hair the way other kids did. I was singled out and teased. Even those these experiences were hard to get through as a child, they have made me a better person knowing how not to treat others.
Having three children of my own has allowed me many opportunities to explore my creative talents and abilities. They help me to see life and certain situations in a new perspective. They help me to think outside the box and help me to feel like a kid again.
