I have always enjoyed reading books. They've always been my mystic portals to other worlds when I wanted to take a little vacation. I've been reading for as long as I can remember, but originally I had no intention of writing books. My life's dream was (and still is) to become a paleontologist (aka a scientist who studies dinosaur bones).
I was in middle school when the impression to write a book came to me. I had read books like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the Hobbit, The Harry Potter series, and Dinotopia. I began to draw maps of places that were not anywhere on Earth. My English teacher used to show us pictures and would have us use our imaginations to describe what we saw happening in the pictures. As I imagined, I felt like a new world was beginning to be born within my mind. My teacher told us about how a few of her students went on to become writers, and I thought, "Hey, this might be a fun hobby."
It took me a few years to complete my first book (I got a little distracted by movies, video games, and schoolwork). However, I managed to seriously get to work on my story halfway through high school. My brother's English teacher helped me to make my story good. When I had finished the story at long last (it felt good to have the story done), I began to look for someone to publish my book. The first few submissions weren't accepted, but finally I found someone who agreed to publish my book. Now The Myths of Dymos: Power of Vedion is available to those who want to step within this new world.
