I love black sheep, but my family offers only a disappointing selection of ecru, beige, and mauve, forcing me to start making things up! That's why I love writing fiction. Strongly influenced by classic authors such as Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Anthony Trollope, and Shirley Jackson. I enjoy reading and writing stories about families and their foibles. If I ever wrote about ax murderers, they'd be a family of ax murderers, bickering about what kind of ax was best and how Mom always favored their siblings over them. Dysfunction junction, that's my family function.
I've had over 35 short stories published internationally. Some have also been made into short films or dramatized for radio, including BBC 4. My first novel is about a ballerina who gets involved in a very dark affair, involving seduction, scandal and suicide, and how she extricates herself and rebuilds relationships with her family. "Black Swan" is not the only dark, sexy ballet story out there!
