I started at 4 years of age dismantling clocks, and other machinery. A career in a technical field was inevitable. After some studies at University in physics, maths, psychology and linguistics, I discovered the new industry of personal computing. 30 years later, I am still working with machines at IBM. I have written a book that explores the traits and abilities of technical people and their relationship to traits described by Professor Hans Asperger. I illustrate how an understanding of these traits has profound implications for the management of technical teams.
