So many books in my head. So little time!

Background Information

Born in the Netherlands before World War II, the story about that war is what I always knew I must write, so I finally did, in The Apple Eater. But writing has always been part of my life: as a teacher, during weekends I spent in a cabin in the Cascades, as a traveler around Europe and the United States. Through the years, I've written many short stories and essays that were influenced by these experiences and by family and people I've met throughout my life.

Birth Place
Arnhem,  The Netherlands
Accomplishments

Earned my BA from the University of Michigan, my MA at Arizona State University. I've written several books and published one, have won awards for stories I've written and had some included in a number of Cup of Comfort books and others.

Additional Information

I love the two writing groups that I belong to, and credit them with editing and fine-honing my writing. I am forever grateful to them!
