My influences are the working life and the office, although sometimes travel pops up its head. The futility of some jobs provides the motivation for much of my prose, while my poetry is more varied encompassing events as well as satire and introspection.
Politicians are now in my sights...I hope to publish a book on them in the next 12 months. I have written numerous articles, so far, for www.thepoliticus.com .
I write mainly for fun, although I have been fortunate enough to have a handful of poems published, and two books (so far).
Recently I have been writing more philsophical poems and trying, usually in vain, to put words to various abstract concepts. I hope to publish a book of poetry some time in 2012.
I read Yes Minister (John Mortimer), Terry Pratchett, Bill Bryson, Simon Winchester, Robert Harris, R.F. Tapsell, a lot of biographies, and many books of poetry including Phillip Larkin, Edgar Allan Poe, Wendy Cope, Byron, Benajmin Zephaniah, and many more.
