I grew up in Massachusetts, the youngest of three daughters. Through adolescence, I enjoyed the irony of F. Scott Fitzgerald's, The Great Gatsby, and the character-driven plot of Shakespeare's, Romeo and Juliet. I graduated from Ithaca College with a major in television/radio with a concentration in scriptwriting and minor in writing. My background and style of writing has always been character-driven and mainly expressed through first person. The past seven years I’ve devoted my energy and focus to my two children as a stay-at-home mother. My suburban lifestyle actually sparked my passion for writing again, when I began to hear sordid details and stories involving Facebook. I discovered complicated and intertwined friendships and relationships, more commonly seen in a Hollywood script, than in the every day lives of real people.
The novel showcases relatable women who could be any one of us…your neighbor, friend, mother, sister, or wife making personal choices that could ultimately change their lives for the better or worse. In their own words, three women share very different personal accounts, but each storyline highlights some trend or situation that is commonplace in the world of social networking today.
I believe as a writer the words to live by are, "write what you know." The experiences and people I've met in my life inspired me to write this novel, and will continue to do so.
