I've been writing my stories since I was a child. Since joining Panhandle Professional Writers a in 2009, I have become more focused with my writing. I am part of a wonderful critique group that sharpens my skills every week. I am currently working on three novels, in varying stages.
"Fake Jake" is a romantic comedy about a man who pretends to be a marriage counselor to help a friend reconcile with his wife. Jake's schemes build him an accidental clientele and a relationship with his neighbor, Audrey, a beautiful ballet instructor, when he introduces dance therapy into his sessions.
"Summer Lost" is a mystery about a woman whose husband disappeared 10 years earlier. Her summer tennant is a retired police detective and true-crime novelist, in town for the purpose of discovering what really happened to her husband.
"Promise of Purple" is a work of historical fiction based on the story of Lydia and the demon-possessed slave girl, from the book of Acts in the Bible.
I write a blog called "Cinema Toast" on kimblack.net. I talk about my love for movies and the medium of film for story-telling.
I also write screenplays and children's books.
