Laurie Gray is an attorney, author and consultant in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  A former teacher, deputy prosecutor and guardian ad litem, Laurie also works as a bilingual child forensic interviewer (Spanish-English) at her local Child Advocacy Center.  She is the founder of Socratic Parenting, LLC (www.SocraticParenting.com) and has served on the faculty at the National Symposium on Child Abuse in Huntsville, Alabama, and at the Midwest Writers Conference at Ball State University.  Laurie is a Published and Listed (P.A.L.) member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.  Her debut novel, Summer Sanctuary (Luminis Books/May 2010), won a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award Gold Medal for excellence in young adult literature.

Laurie has completed manuscripts for two additional young adult novels: Just Myrto: Marrying Socrates launches Myrto, granddaughter of Aristides the Just, on a journey through Ancient Greek metaphysics to discover the wonder of being "Just Myrto." Maybe I Will: A sexually assaulted teenager resists conformity, yet discovers freedom of self-expression through the physical forms in Taekwondo and the poetic form of Shakespeare's sonnets.

Sophie's Cafe
Laurie created and manages the website and acts as a consultant for this women's empowerment group. Created and facilitated by women for women, Sophie’s Café is a support group intentionally designed to empower women to break self-defeating patterns and establish healthy boundaries. Participants from all walks of life connect in a safe and affirming circle to explore and honor each woman’s unique, inner wisdom. As we learn to accept and love ourselves, we build a respectful and loving community around us.

Summer Sanctuary
Summer Sanctuary (Luminis Books/2010) is Laurie's debut young adult novel. A 12-year-old preacher's kid meets a homeless teen at his local library and convinces her to live secretly in his church for the summer. Summer Sanctuary won a Moonbeam Gold Medal for excellence in Children's Literature.
