Between 1998 and 2006 I wrote 30 children's books while I live in Ireland. My kids and my life were the main inspiration behind becoming an author. Then I moved to France to start a new life with my family, and five years later, finally have the energy again to write. Believe me, renovating 2 old houses and running a fishery and 75 acre estate is kind of exhausting! I'm now moving into adult fiction and adult non-fiction, but also rereleasing some of my children's books for Kindle.
I read English at Oxford and then did a publishing studies postgrad degree. I worked as a desk editor with Hodder and Stoughton, before becoming a freelance editor in 1992. So I have a lot of years of editing under my belt, which is certainly useful if you want to self-publish, which is my plan.
I have had numerous articles in papers and magazines over the years, including two in the last few months in The Telegraph newspaper.
I run two blogs and am busily building more to go with my forthcoming books.
