Born in Savannah, GA (1959), I grew up around some of the most most beautiful sites and important places in our state's history. Failing to realize the cultural value of this rich heritage, I went out into the world to "find myself"--as so many members of my generation were fond of saying/doing. Even so, as I matured (grew older & wiser) I eventually appreciated the often tumultuous past of the Southeastern and Coastal regions of Georgia, especially Savannah, and how much that past had influenced my life. Thus, I returned to the area in June 1993. I finished my BA-English at Armstrong Atlantic State University (2001) where I also went on to complete my Master of Adult Education (2005). I worked as a social worker for a number of years and went on to become a part-time instructor of Developmental and Entry-level English at Savannah Technical College. Besides teaching, some of my most fun and memorable experiences have been facilitating journal writing workshops at an assited living community. I am now tremendously enjoying my retirement (with my wife & family) and making use of it by completing a number of writing projects which I had delayed way too long while concentrating on my working life. Peace, Don
