I first started writing poetry half as an act of courage, half out of boredom in my seventh grade bio class. The boredom end is evident---but to understand the courage end... I was born and raised in Jersey City...was not very cool to able to READ in PS #6, at the time...but to write POETRY? THAT was cruising for a bruising. Since my family pic is listed in Webster's under "dysfunctional", writing became my shrink, my friend, my lover---and eventually my way of setting myself aside from the pack. Stephen Anthony Rossi encouraged me in high school, Antoinette Libro of Rowan University in College...meeting Lyn Lifshin was a major moment for me. And countless folks since I hit the web in 1998....but special thanks to Tony Spivey, the Poetdude, and Leon and Sondra Schlossberg of Iriswhite Publishing!
