My English teacher had a project for her class....
Create a story
After the story was created...and edited by her, of course.
Then it was time to put the story into a "book" format.
That’s all she had to say!!!!
I was done days before everyone else and I asked her if I could make another!
When my teacher advised me that I could I was ecstatic!
And 'til this day..that teacher still has those books! She saw my interest and noticed my talent so she gave me a journal to write in.
I was supposed to write about my everyday adventures but that was boring! So I started writing fictional stories.
When I wrote the stories the words seemed to flow and before I knew it the journal was full! Not sure where that journal is today though.
A few years later I created my first novel "Living Life." I was only into the first chapter when I let everyone around me read it.
After getting rave reviews I decided to look into getting my book published. It was costly and I became discouraged. I detoured myself from writing to focus on raising my four beautiful children.
A family member asked me about my novel and showed her interest in reading the rest of the book. So I worked on finishing the book and looked for a publisher that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
After locating a great low cost publisher I bought a laptop and started two more books, "Why Me?" and "Think Again."
My first love (after GOD and my children of course) is writing. I am working towards perfecting my writing.
My fictional books contain street lit, romance, drama, young adult and children’s stories.
Some people say that I am different..or even weird...that may be true but my mind creates story lines, plots and characters that will have you glued to each word. Leaving you shocked and wanting more! So if I am weird, so be it. I am who I am and I love it!
A few people have asked me... "Lina, have you made those millions yet?" (you know it was family members right?...lol)
I’m not in this for the money aspect of it. I’m in it for the love of writing.
It’s my passion and I know that it takes time for an author to gain recognition in this world and I have the patience that it takes for my fifteen (hopefully longer) minutes in the lime light.
I don’t have a lot of big names that have read my books or providing me with sponsorship. I have the support of family members, great friends and a fan base that I love and cherish for their love and support.
I can’t end this bio because my chapter is NOT done.
My life has had it’s ups and downs and I don’t regret anything!
Everything happens for a reason and I am stronger because of it.
