Luke Short, Louis L'Amour, and Zane Grey. I used to write stories about cowboys and poems about most anything. Things like that I kept hidden because it embarrassed me when my friends would tease me about writing poems. I always loved rhyming words and reading and writing poetry during literature class. I was born in rural Oklahoma in 1952. My father started working on pipelines when I was a toddler and we wound up in Colorado for many years. My mother worked as a waitress.
