Author, editor, rock historian and record producer Bruce Pollock has written ten books on music for publishers ranging from Holt, Macmillan, and Harper Collins, to Scholastic, Schirmer, and Backbeat Books. These include By the Time We Got to Woodstock: The Rock and Roll Revolution of 1969, The Rock Song Index: The 7500 Most Important Songs of the Rock and Roll Era, Working Musicians: Defining Moments from the Road, the Studio and the Stage and the recently released If You Like the Beatles. He was the founding Editor in chief of the magazine Guitar for the Practicing Musician (1983 to 1992), an Executive Producer of music compilations at BMG and Sony BMG and a columnist for Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, Viva, Video Review, and the Gannett Westchester Newspapers. His articles and interviews have appeared in Playboy, Musician, Saturday Review, TV Guide, Cosmopolitan, the Village Voice, and elsewhere. He has also published three Young Adult novels (Houghton Mifflin) and was the editor of an annual reference book on popular songs for 17 years.

Accomplishments: I am a winner of the Deems Taylor Award for journalism from ASCAP, the Dejur Award for fiction from CCNY, and a grant from the State of Connecticut for fiction.

| This fall in addition to the publication of If You Like the Beatles, I will be reissuing my 1984 volume When the Music Mattered: Portraits from the 1960s and my third novel It’s Only Rock and Roll, originally published in 1982. The novel will include some of my songs, written with a variety of composers.
