Even as a young boy I thought about becoming a writer. But life got in the way.
I began writing seriously in 1999 when I retired as an administrator for the Edgemont school district. I must admit that my first novel, Prey For Me, was pretty poorly written. I kept working at the craft and after a couple of years I began to see some success.
My short stories have appeared in various literary and genre magazines across the country and my two published novels, BLOOD RELATIVE and BLOOD BOND have received critical acclaim from Broadcast as well as print and Internet media. My novel, SCENT OF DEATH, is slated for publication next Fall.
While most of my works take place in New York City and the surrounding areas, several years ago I travelled to Wyoming to do research for a sci-fi thriller entitled KILLING TIME. The novel has been completed but has not yet been published.
For a number of years I lectured for Norwegian Cruise Lines on the art of fiction writing. As a guest speaker I traversed much of the Caribbean, the Northern Passage to Canada and the Hawaiian Islands. I was fortunate to meet a number of aspiring writers, a few of whom have had success in publishing their short stories.
I currently teach a course in Creative Writing in my home town of Glen Cove, New York and I have lectured at various libraries and civic organizations.
