Dead As Dutch is Rich Docherty’s debut novel, but he’s no novice when it comes to arranging words on a blank page. He has written numerous screenplays and plays that clutter his shelves and clog his desk drawers. Occasionally, however, one of his scripts is dusted off and made into a movie, such as the indie film comedy he co-produced, Dumping Lisa. He continues to write at his bungalow in a New York City suburb where he ponders the mysteries of the fairway metal, whistles in graveyards, and never spits into the wind. Rich hopes beyond hope that he will see the Cleveland Browns in the Super Bowl at least once during his lifetime and, following the sage advice of Groucho, always examines the dice.
