I've written since I could hold a #2 pencil in my fat little fist, then graduated to my father's ancient Underwood upright typewriter. Two portable typewriters,a couple of word processors and computers later, I have four novels (five counting the one due for release in May) and have been published in various anthologies and online and print magazines.
Hours spent in my safe, friendly hometown library after the war developed a love for reading and also research into new topics. Thirty-five+ years of genealogy and travel related to finding my ancestors has provided many story ideas and themes.
A lifelong fascination with history, a result of growing up at my grandfather's knee (born 1873) and listening to him talk about days gone by, led to a master's degree in history.
There are not enough hours in the day to read what I want to read, write what I want to write, and go where I want to go--but I keep trying! And, I'm currently rewriting and revising a six-book cozy mystery series set in a mythical Arkansas town.
