I am a writer of both fiction and nonfiction for children and young adults. I’m especially interested in history and have written on subjects ranging from the ancient Aztecs to contemporary American architecture. My picture books include Ben and the Emancipation Proclamation and The Sun’s Daughter. You can find out more about my writing at my website and also read of few of my original stories.
I've also become something of an architecture maven. If you're interested in some cool buildings please visit my blog, Cool Building of the Week.
For the past several years I've lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where I teach creative writing to adults. In my earlier life I worked as an archivist for a number of museums and libraries. In my old(er) age, I still like to haunt museums and libraries whenever possible.
