Richard Avery (1959 - ) was born in Southeast Texas to working class parents. He grew up in Silsbee, Texas where his interests included sports and creative hobbies like making up games and stories to entertain himself and others. He graduated with one of the most talented classes in the country and is currently reconnecting with many of his class mates from childhood through Facebook and other social media outlets. His interests include an occasional sporting event, cooking (mainly one dish, but he's good at it), and exploring new places (like the wine bar down the street from his house). He loves to string together an entertaining story with unique characters who leave a lasting impression on the reader. Three things have captivated his attention over the years; writing is one of them. Until the advent of venues like Amazon and Google Books, the publishing world was as far removed from his life as sounding like Elvis in the shower. Thanks to self-publishing, Richard can now share his creativity with a broader audience than ever before.

Professional Educator of students from elementary level to college. Richard holds down three jobs along with his writing and promoting campaigns. He hold a lifetime teaching certificate in English and a Professional Principals Certificate from the Texas State Board for Educator Certification.

Currently working on a middle grade adventure fantasy book involving an eleven year-old quadriplegic with special powers.
