I'm a bull-headed, contemplative, (mostly) positive cat person who is known locally as a danger to herself and others, although there is (mostly) no truth to those rumors. I write because I'm eternally amazed at the power of the written word to make us feel and think in new ways, and because it's fun to make stuff up.
I have two children. My daughter is serving in the middle east this year and my son is busy being a teenaged boy, with all that that entails. This means that my life is full of long-distance phone calls, strange post-office personnel who think care packages might just be some sort of weapon, and food. Lots of food. The boy loves food. Even more than he loves girls, I think.
I drink wine on occasion, have an unhealthy relationship with coffee, and love costume jewelry and other sparkly things. I get distracted easily and have a thing for Shel Silverstein's poetry. Oh, and I have two rescue kittens.
I write at least 750 words a day, usually during my second pot of coffee. I don't do outlines, because once I figure out how the story ends I don't want to write it anymore. Besides, my characters are always doing something sneaky and not letting me know what's going on until later in the story. Yes, that happens.
